10) Abrams Creek - Maryville
This is an awesome spot for backpackers and all those seasoned athletes out there. The creek and falls are gorgeous, so if you pitch a tent there's plenty to do!
9) Bandy Creek - Oneida
Located off of the Bit South Fork, Bandy Creek Campground has the ability to house 181 separate campsites and there are fire rings, showers and picnic tables to boot.
8) Cades Cove Campground - Townsend
We already know Cades Cove is gorgeous, but camping there? An answer to prayer. The valley is huge and varied, boasting a camp store for all you forgot and expansive nature for everything you'll want to remember.
7) Cherokee National Forest - Tellico Plains
RV's are welcome, and only the adventurous need apply. You can fish, picnic and hike to your hearts desire out here in the wilderness. Tennessee is beautiful, and this highly forgotten forest is a hidden gem.
6) Chickamauga Lake - Chattanooga
The lake is a haven for all those that love nature, and with a calendar that spans a majority of the year with a fantastic southern Tennessee location, you don't need much else to make some lovely memories.
5) Foster Falls - Jasper
A crowd favorite, Foster Falls has a small campground that boasts grills, a parking lot, restrooms and a small fee.
4) Frozen Head State Park - Wartburg
The Cumberland Mountains has quite the find with Frozen Head, where there are more than fifty-miles of backpacking trails and twenty openings for tent camping.
3) J. Percy Priest Dam & Reservoir - Nashville
You can choose to go tent camping or bring your camper because the low camping fees here and the awesome water and shower facilities are great for the whole family.
2) Mousetail Landing - Linden
There's supposed to be a town hidden under the lake, and if you bring your tent and some supplies you're more than ready to spend the weekend at this clean and secluded site.
1) Great Smoky Mountains National Park - Gatlinburg
Well well well. What a shock, right? The most visited national park in the nation makes it to number one for great facilities and varied options for all kinds of campers and backpackers.
