When you think of Tennessee, I’m sure a few things come to mind. Nashville is for sure one of them -- perhaps you even hear the sound of country and bluegrass music? To me, Tennessee means majestic mountains and rolling hills, country living and beautifully restored farms. Doesn’t it just feel nostalgic to get away and book a place to stay in Tennessee on a farm or in a small town? Today I would like to introduce you to Duke and Dolly; not only are they restored farming silos, but they are definitely the most unique places to stay in Tennessee.
Located in the heart of Lynchburg on a 16-acre farm sits a 60-year-old grain bin. Instead of your typical dilapidated and forgotten farm building, this silo sits proud and sturdy with a few extra attachments to it.
This is “The Duke” and he has been renovated and restored to make for one beautiful accommodation. The name, of course, comes from Johnny Cash, AKA The Man in Black.
The second silo is named "Dolly" after the beloved Tennessee county icon. The interiors of both silos are thoughtfully decorated with familiar farmhouse decor.
Each offer slightly different vibes, but both do a fantastic job of capturing that feeling of a Tennessee countryside.
These silos are more than just a unique place to stay, they stand as an invitation to slow life down a little bit.
Sit on the front porch and enjoy the simple pleasures of the warm sun or a drizzly day. Linger with the ones you love the most and play a game or talk without the distractions we typically run to.
The farm is also a beautiful event space if you are looking to tie the knot! Explore the grounds to just get a taste of farm life in the Volunteer State. Cut your own flowers, pick fresh vegetables from the garden, or enjoy eggs from the chickens on site.
If you are looking to make your way into the charming small town of Lynchburg, Tennessee, you won’t have very far to travel.
For a delicious meal, look no further than Chuck's Barrel House BBQ. If you want an authentic look at Tennessee life, nothing showcases that better than a big plate of pulled pork, in my humble opinion.
Another historic tradition of Tennessee is Jack Daniel's.
This famous distiller comes from this small town and you can tour the distillery to learn about the fine art of making whiskey. When you are done learning about this aged tradition, head back to the silos for a relaxing evening as the sounds of the country crickets serenade you to a restful night's sleep. Cheers to that!
I don’t know about you, but Duke and Dolly definitely rank among the most unique places to stay in Tennessee!
