Nashville has become quite the hit city as of late, which means that it's getting a bit harder to find true natural escape close to the heart of downtown. Fall Creek Falls State Park is the most popular state park in the whole of Tennessee, and it's not too difficult a drive from Music City. If you're up for a scant hour or two in the car, then a visit to the campgrounds and adventure park within the state park is well worth a trek. It's fun for the whole family!
Fall Creek Falls State Park boasts 222 different campsites clustered in five different areas. You can choose from sites with tables, water, electricity, nearby bathhouses and running water or perhaps go a bit rogue with a primitive site. Great for tent camping, there are even 9 "walk-in" sites that require a hike up to the space.
Rates run between $15 and $35 for reservations, and they must be done ahead of time. We'd recommend heading to the official Tennessee State Parks website (you can find the link at the bottom of the page!) and reserving from there.
Looking to expand your adventure? Then check out the Canopy Challenge Course! Offering more than two hours of ziplining fun, there are over seventy aerial obstacles available for your exploration.
From rope swings to balance beams, bridges to ziplines, this incredible challenge course is a self-guided adventure for the books.
You'll be provided with instruction on how to safely experience the park with a quick trip to Ground School, then you'll be let loose on your self-guided experience.
Although walk-ins are accepted at this treetop obstacle course and zip lining space, we'd recommend reserving a specific time for you and your adventure buddies ahead of time. Ticket prices vary, depending on how expansive an experience you're looking to have.
Fall Creek Falls State Park is roughly two hours from Nashville, and will take you on a road trip through the beautiful wilds of the state. This is a camping experience you'll never forget, folks.
