Hangar Lofts Hotel is sure to be one of the most unique places for an overnight stay in Columbia, SC you can find. It's a boutique designer hotel in what used to be airplane hangars that once serviced the Owens Field airstrip. Featured twice on HGTV, the space has been transformed from its prior use into cozy, comfortable rentals by Joab Dick, who was a stockbroker whose passion became repurposing old warehouses into chic living quarters. This project was an extension of his interest in architecture, art, and design. Take a peek at the end result!
The lofts are located between the Rosewood neighborhood and the Columbia Downtown Airport. Just steps away is The
Hunter-Gatherer Brewery, which was the Historic Curtiss-Wright Airplane Hangar. Between the lofts and the brewery is a footpath through South Carolina’s first urban farm, City Roots, a three-and-a-half acre organic farm and market.
The Hangar Lofts Hotel has three one-bedroom loft spaces, an industrial loft with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a 500-square-foot flat inspired by the famous architect and designer Frank Lloyd Wright.
The attention to detail you'll find at this mid-century modern-styled hotel is incredible, from the slick Ferrari Red sliding hangar doors that open to a private patio to the Italian leather sofa ...
... and Wamsutta 500 thread count sheets, goose-down pillows, and comforter to sink into for the perfect night's sleep!
You can make a cup of Starbucks Italian coffee upon awakening in the morning and enjoy breakfast ...
... along with an invigorating rain shower before heading out to explore the beautiful capital city of Columbia.
