A day at our favorite amusement park was sometimes the highlight of our year, certainly our summer back when we were kids. We had so much fun that we never wanted the day to end, and the kid in us might still feel the same way. Well, the fun doesn't have to end when the sun goes down at Knoebels Amusement Resort in Pennsylvania. Spend the day on your favorite rides, zipping down waterslides, and indulging in your favorite goods - like candy apples. Then fall asleep under the stars at the campground.
Knoebels Amusement Park, billed as America's largest free-admission amusement park, boasts so much to do that one day often isn't enough time to soak it all up.
Fortunately, the resort offers camping at one of two campgrounds - Knoebels Campground and Lake Glory Campground. Knoebels Campground is a short stroll from the amusement park.
Lake Glory, on the other hand, is a brief ride from the amusement park. Just hop on the free shuttle that will take you between the campground and the park.
Knoebels also offers accommodation at Knoebels Cottages and Latorre House Bed & Breakfast, the latter of which is about a mile from the park.
With all of the options at Knoebels, you're sure to find the right place for your adventure. Sleep under the stars in a tent, or park your RV or camper.
Both Knoebels and Lake Glory Campgrounds offer cabins for rent too. Being so close to the park means you can come back to the campground for a nap or to make a quick meal if you need a break.
However, chances are the time will melt away at Knoebels, where you'll find an abundance of rides for both the adults and the kiddos.
The pool is perfect for staying cool on hot summer days. When you're done swimming, see if you can beat the high score in the arcade.
What would a trip to an amusement park be without all of the delicious goodies? From funnel cakes to barbecue chicken, the park offers something for all tastes.
