We might still be in the throes of winter, although we've pretty much avoided tons of snow (knock on wood) thus far this season. But, that doesn't mean our thoughts haven't turned to the warmer days ahead, including starting to mull over our upcoming vacations or quick getaways. If you're on the hunt for a really unique place to rest your head at night this spring or summer, plan a stay at this motel near Pittsburgh.
Don't let the term "motel" fool you. The Caboose Motel, nestled about two hours from downtown Pittsburgh, in Titusville actually invites guests to sleep in converted cabooses.
And, while the Caboose Motel's season runs from May through October, you'll definitely want to plan ahead as rooms generally fill up pretty quickly.
Sat right next to railroad tracks and Perry Street Station in Titusville, the Caboose Motel boasts 21 cabooses. Amenities include A/C and heat, free WiFi, and a TV.
Bringing your pooch? Then, request one of the dog-friendly cabooses. (The Caboose Motel even features a handicap accessible caboose.)
Cuddle up in your cozy bed at the end of a long day exploring Titusville or just relaxing on your deck. Cabooses feature either a king-sized bed or two full beds.
And, wake each morning to the sunlight streaming through your windows. Then, start your day with a relaxing shower in your private bathroom.
Can you think of a better way to start a day than sipping a piping hot cup of coffee as you sit on your private deck, right outside of your caboose?
Of course, you'll definitely want to explore the area, The Caboose Motel is just 10 miles from Oil Creek State Park. Other area attractions include the Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad (take a scenic ride!) and the Drake Well Museum.
And, even though the 2019 season doesn't kick off until May, you can still call 800-827-0690 to make reservations during the off-season.
The Caboose Motel is located at 407 S Perry St., Titusville, PA 16354.
