Looking for somewhere different to hang out this weekend? You could hang out at the same old bar...or you could join the party that's going on in this bungalow...
This bungalow in Portland look just like a typical home, but when you walk through the door you'll find a secret speakeasy.
The Bible Club will take you right back in time to the Prohibition era, and it's as much a museum as it is a bar. This little bungalow is filled with carefully-curated antiques from the 1920s.
Take a few minutes to walk through and gaze at the photos on the wall, including this one of Mary Pickford - an icon of the 20s.
There's even a vintage cash register behind the bar.
Speaking of the bar, you'll also be mesmerized by the bartenders as they create every single drink the old-fashioned way. These folks know their craft, and they're absolutely amazing.
The drink menu changes often, and every drink is created using the best ingredients and premium liquors.
Each creation is served in antique glassware.
Two cocktail menus provide everything you'd ever want (and you'll want to try them all). The Proprietary Libations menu includes fun cocktails that change often; the Heritage Menu includes classics from the 20s and 30s that are still tasty today.
If your favorite drops off the menu, don't worry - it might be back soon.
The Bible Club also offers a menu of delicious appetizers and even a few entrees. Get something yummy to share...
...or come for dinner. The lamb shank, made osso buco style, is tender and delicious.
The Bible Club is the perfect place to relax with friends and enjoy an evening in beautiful surroundings.
Seating at The Bible Club is first come, first served, and it's a small, intimate place so it might take you a few tries to get in. This little speakeasy is open Wednesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to Midnight, open Saturday til 1 a.m., and Sunday 4 p.m. to 11 p.m..
If you'd rather drink your moonshine at home, then you should definitely check out this little family-owned moonshine distillery in Philomath.
