Camping has long been a favorite outdoor activity in Ohio, with our beautiful state parks providing the perfect setting for a night out in nature. However, for those of us who enjoy the Great Outdoors but don't necessarily want to sleep in a lumpy sleeping bag or go without a shower (or, um, facilities), camping in Ohio hasn't necessarily been an accessible or exciting option. But with the recent trend toward "glamping," Ohioans now have options that provide all the comforts of home when camping, proving that, indeed, you can have it all... especially with regard to camping in Ohio! All of this is to say that if you've yet to go glamping at Valley Overlook at Camp Mueller, a glampground in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, let this be your sign! Let's have a look...
There's a well-known saying that "time spent in nature is never wasted" and we wholeheartedly agree. We love nothing more than spending time in the beautiful Buckeye State and while we're all for pitching a tent and camping in Ohio, it does have its disadvantages.
So imagine our delight to discover Valley Overlook at Camp Mueller, a new private campground and glamping community in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park!
Prior to this glampground, camping in Ohio's beautiful national park was a no-go. But as of the summer of 2023, Valley Overlook opened its doors -- er, canvas flaps -- with the debut of its glamping tents!
The glamping getaway in Cuyahoga Valley National Park opened in stages: as of 2024, Furnished Canvas Tent Cabins, Four-Season Cabins, and Primitive Sites were available for reservation through the website!
We're most excited about the glamping tents. Impeccably furnished in a minimalist, almost Scandinavian aesthetic, you'll have the best sleep of your life in here! What a glorious "home base" for your adventures.
Speaking of which, this 62-acre campground has a prime location surrounded Cuyahoga Valley National Park, near an extensive network of hiking trails, bike paths, river and lake kayaking and fishing, a swimming quarry, and even ski slopes!
The campground is . While the campground trails do not connect directly to the national park trails, there are many trailheads easily accessible by car -- the Towpath Trail, for example, is a walkable distance from the campground.
Oh -- and did we mention that the night skies above Cuyahoga Valley National Park are absolutely stunning? We can't think of a better way to spend a summer night in the Buckeye State.
When you're ready to plan your next outdoor adventure in Ohio, be sure to check out the Valley Overlook at Camp Mueller, an amazing glamping getaway in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
