Few people know there's a lovely little Medieval village - complete with a castle - tucked away in the scenic Hocking Hills in New Plymouth.
While you can rent out rooms within the castle for overnight stays, the Medieval village out back features several cozy cottages and cabins that are just as whimsical.
There are seven rooms and suites within the castle to choose from. Visit the Ravenwood Castle website for more information about castle rooms.
There are nine Medieval village cottages you can stay in, which offer a bit more privacy during your stay. Pictured below is the Silversmith's House
The Silversmith's House is the largest cottage in the village. It features two bedrooms, a heart-shaped whirlpool, a spacious sitting room, kitchenette and two decks.
The Merchant's Cottage, (pictured below), features a queen bed, loft sitting room, a kitchenette, antique brass fireplace, Jacuzzi bathtub and more.
You can also camp in the Huntsman's Hollow, which features multiple cabins situated around a fire ring.
These cabins feature a private bedroom, full bath, a common room with a kitchenette, a futon-for-two and an enclosed porch. Learn more about Huntsman's Hollow at the website.
During your stay, you'll want to explore the village, hollow, and grounds of the castle.
Take some time to truly unplug. Limited cell phone service and no Internet will help you enjoy the peace and quiet here.
Outside of the castle, you'll find some interesting games...
Throughout the year, Ravenwood Castle also hosts various events.
...and inside the castle there are some public places all guests can explore as well, such as the library. Get lost in a book or play a board game by the fire.
