Here in Ohio, we're constantly looking for new experiences that will connect us to the great outdoors. One of our favorite pastimes is camping, and the Buckeye State does not disappoint when it comes to one-of-a-kind campgrounds. Today's feature destination is no exception. Tucked away on a small farm near Thornville, Ohio, you'll find a rustic campsite that promises the company of adorable alpacas. Here's more on how you can go camping with alpacas here in Ohio.
Alpacas are simply adorable, aren't they? If you tend to agree, there's a special campsite in rural Ohio that belongs on your radar.
Close to Wayne National Forest, this private campground is listed on HipCamp under the name "Alpacas Aren't Llamas," a humorous reminder that there is indeed a difference between the two furry species.
You'll set up your own tent on this secluded forage and fiber farm, right next to 20 friendly alpacas.
There are a few things you should know about planning your camping adventure here. No more than four guests are allowed, you'll need to bring just about everything with you, and your four-legged friends are welcome.
Campers should also note that campfires are allowed and there are toilets and potable water available on-site.
Your host, Christopher, will be happy to teach you about all things alpacas. Those looking for an up-close-and-personal experience can even feed them!
During the day, you can explore all that the region has to offer. Nearby attractions include Buckeye Lake Brewery and Dillon State Park.
Of course, once you meet your adorable fellow campers, you may never want to leave the farm!
