As children, most of us dreamed of having our very own hideaway — a place that let us escape from the real world and made us feel like we had our own secret space. And a treehouse, well, that was the ultimate hideaway for any kid. Now, you can relive all those nostalgic childhood memories as an adult at this incredible mountain hideaway!

Located only 10 minutes from downtown Asheville, The Sanctuary — a mountaintop treehouse — is the perfect escape for those of us who are still kids at heart.

While the entire house is completely supported by trees, guests don't have to actually worry about climbing up the tree to get in. The Sanctuary offers one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen and a charming Juliet balcony.

With hardwood floors, a mounted flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, bluetooth speaker and comfy furnishings — the inside is nothing like those childhood treehouses we're probably all used to.

Light snacks, locally roasted coffee, honey and tea are all provided by the owners of the house to help make your trip to the mountains even more special.

Glamping (especially glamping in the mountains of North Carolina) is truly an addicting experience, to say the least. Once you've glamped and enjoyed a few more luxuries you just can't get while traditional camping, you may not want to go back to regular camping. Without further ado, here's more on why you'll want to book at least a few nights at this one-of-a-kind dome Airbnb in North Carolina.

One of the most unusual glamping experiences you'll find in the Tar Heel State is found in the Chimney Rock, Lake Lure area. It's here, on the side of a mountain that you'll find a pair of glamping domes that are like a five-star hotel, compared to regular tent camping.
