If you're on the hunt for a luxuriously gorgeous spot in beautiful New York state with views to die for, Bear Mountain State Park is worth the time to explore. If you decide to stay while you're at it, the Bear Mountain Inn is the perfect place to cozy up, offering everything from rooms to delightful cabins for travel-weary guests.
Located right at the base of gorgeous Bear Mountain, along the Appalachian trail, lies this fabulously beautiful inn.
Guests are given three options for their stay: The Inn, Overlook Lodge, and the Stone Cottages.
The property sprawls a formidable 5,205 acres on the west bank of the Hudson River.
It is warm and inviting, immediately making each visitor feel at home among the quiet pines.
Bear Mountain State Park itself offers plenty of activities to pass the time, including fly fishing, boating, and ice skating in the winter.
Nearby the inn is ones' choice of numerous hiking trails with breathtaking sights to see on each. The water on the lake is still and the air is quiet — all perfect for some afternoon meditation.
Named because it quite literally looks like a sleeping bear, Bear Mountain is geologically fascinating and historically interesting.
It is one of the best-known peaks in New York, and the entire park spans over two New York state counties.
The inn itself was built in 1915, and recently, in 2012, renovations were completed, giving the old building new life.
Over the years, there have been notable guests such as the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants. Both teams have historically called the inn and the park their training headquarters.
The Stone Cottages are the quaintest of all the lodging offered by Bear Mountain Inn.
For a reasonable cost, guests can reserve these quiet little gems to avoid the hustle and bustle of the busy inn life. Amenities within each cottage include six guest rooms (each with a queen bed!), luxurious bedding and linens, large televisions with satellite TV, and much more.
Although pets are allowed at the Overlook Lodge portion of the property, they aren't allowed in the Stone Cabins.
The Stone Cabins, like all other rooms, are equipped with their own Keurig coffee makers, bottles of water, high-speed wifi, and much more. There is no smoking or vaping permitted anywhere on the property.
