Life in New Jersey is perfect for those who like things a mile a minute, but we all need a little break now and then. New Jersey is one of the smallest states and the most densely populated, which means quiet spots can be a little hard to come by - but far from impossible if you know where to look. I find that a few days at a vacation rental can be just the ticket, and there's an amazing rural Airbnb in New Jersey that feels just like a cabin in the woods. Located in West Milford, this charming forest getaway sleeps five with three bedrooms and features not one but two ways to relax in the water with an amazing view of the surrounding forest. The best news is, while it feels like it's a million miles away from civilization, it's definitely not - it's just a short drive from some of New Jersey's best attractions and parks!

Even for those of us who live near the beach and can visit whenever we want, it still feels like a pretty special destination. Something about feeling the sand between your toes and the cool breeze blowing over the water has the ability to make you feel immediately relaxed. Here in New Jersey, we've got no shortage of amazing spots to spend time on the water, whether you're looking for shoreline along the Atlantic Ocean or prefer to check out our multitude of lakes and rivers. No matter what season it is, many of us love being on the coast, because a walk along the waterfront is a tranquil experience that has no substitute. If you're looking for the perfect place to spend some time by the water, we think you'll love the charming Airbnb we're featuring today. The Octopus Cottage is an adorable, colorful cephalopod-themed hideout in East Township, New Jersey that's right by the water and offers up a great spot for a few nights away.

One of the main draws to this place is its close proximity to the beach. It's only about 30 steps away from a private beach path. Several kayaks and life jackets are available for use during your stay, and the fishing is great here.

We might be a small, heavily urban state here in New Jersey, but when the leaves start to change, we all love to head to the country! New Jersey's fall foliage season is amazing, and it'll be coming up soon, which is why the rush is on to find the perfect leaf-peeping trip - and some top locations might get pretty crowded. That's why I went looking for hidden gems - and I found an incredible one on the Jersey Shore. This unique Airbnb in Somers Point is called Leenie's Garden Hideaway, and it's an amazing retreat for a couple - an intimate mother-in-law suite connected to a house with a gorgeous private garden and some truly unique amenities. There's no better place to take in New Jersey's wonder in your own little getaway!
