Working from home certainly has its perks. I love the short commute from my kitchen to my home office, the flexibility of setting convenient hours, and the opportunity to indulge in the yummy homemade meals my husband whips up for us at lunchtime. While I don’t think I could revert to full-time in-person office work at this point, I often miss having actual face-to-face contact with colleagues. Collaboration is key to running a successful business or company, but sometimes finding space to meet together can be challenging. If this is an issue with your company, I am here to tell you that there is a remote place in Tuftonboro, New Hampshire called Quietude, where you and your coworkers will be productive and enjoy some fun and relaxation as well.
Tuftonboro, a small town in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region, is made up of less than 2,500 people. The town is gorgeous, and yes, quiet. Venture into Tuftonboro and you will find a unique retreat center called Quietude. The special Adirondack-style center, managed by Ember Escapes, is set on 60 acres of scenic wooded property. Three separate buildings (the lodge, cottage, and gatehouse) make up the center.
Quietude offers numerous comfortable spots for in-person collaboration. The center’s goal is to provide spaces for you and your coworkers to connect without relying on the constant use of devices.
A work trip here isn’t just about business. A stay at Quietutude takes the phrase “working vacation” to the max. Guests have opportunities to participate in fun activities like yoga classes, wine tastings, and custom team-building workshops.
When you retreat at Quietude, do not plan to be cooped up inside. The center not only provides comfortable inside meeting areas, but also relies on outside experiences to promote collaboration, relaxation, and creativity. Guests at Quietude are welcome to explore the stunning property, which sits at the base of the scenic White Mountains. There are three miles of hiking and Nordic trails as well as a fishing pond (stocked with trout), multiple firepits, and yard games on-site. Now this seems like a fantastic working vacation to me!
Have you taken a work trip to Quietude or a similar conference center? If so, Only In Your State would love to know all about your experience.
