Some of the most special nights in New Hampshire are those we've spent exploring other areas of the state. Whether you live here or just love to visit, making sure to see new spots is not only important, it's vital to getting a full picture of what a place offers. We love doing that by spending our special occasions overnight at local resorts and inns and we can't wait to try this one!

We love just how unique so many of the lodging options are in this state. Especially this charming bed and breakfast that's nestled next to a covered bridge. The bridge even has a quaint shop hidden inside!

New Castle is the state's easternmost town and it's made up entirely of islands. With just 968 residents, this little area is quaint and fun to explore, but just a 5-minute drive to Portsmouth.

Just because there's no snow on the ground doesn't mean that you can't go tubing in NH. You can combine what you love about summer in New Hampshire — time in the sun, on the water, in the mountains, and more — with what you love about the winter. In fact, during the summer, one of the most thrilling things to do in New Hampshire is tubing in North Conway at Cranmore Mountain Resort!

In the summer, North Conway's Cranmore Mountain Resort opens up its incredible summer adventure park, which offers a range of activities and things to do in New Hampshire that your whole family will adore.

There's nothing quite like a Cranmore Mountain Resort summer!

One of its most family-friendly summer attractions is summer mountain tubing, where you shoot down a 400-foot drop on a slippery chute. There's even a conveyer belt to the top, so you can keep going again and again! Who says tubing in NH is only for the winter?

This ride is perfect for kids. They need to be at least 42 inches tall to ride alone, but smaller kids can ride with an adult.

There are plenty of other great thrills in this park as well. Kids will especially adore the giant swing at the base of the mountain that'll take you far higher in the sky than anything you've experienced before. It's a wild experience and one of the most enjoyable things to do in New Hampshire this time of year.

If that's not enough airborne excitement for you, take a ride on the Flying Eagle Zipline at Cranmore Mountain.

There's an absolutely incredible Aerial Adventure Park too — it's the perfect team-building fun for a family or group of friends.

If you'd like, you can even hike up to the summit! The views are absolutely spectacular, and for skiers, it's great fun to see the slopes in a different season. A Cranmore summer is a great summer to be had!

In the 1850s, the expansion of rail service into New Hampshire meant that tourists could more easily visit what was once a vast wilderness area at the time. Along with this boom in visitors came the era of the grand hotel. While most of these classic structures didn't survive into the modern age, there is one that you can still stay at today. Check out the Omni Mount Washington Resort, one of the very best hotels in New Hampshire.

Omni Mount Washington Resort was designed by Charles Alling Gifford and constructed between 1900 and 1902. It is one of only three survivors of New Hampshire's era of grand hotels that flourished between 1880 and 1910. These elegant getaways were built to attract the elite class of tourists from cities like Boston.

Some things have changed since this scene in 1920, but much of the spirit and spectacle of Omni Mount Washington Resort remains the same a century later.
