One of the most quintessential features of New Hampshire are the many covered bridges that dot the landscape from all corners of the state. We love making fun day trips out of visiting them, but there's one special experience here in the Granite State that offers an up-close-and-personal way to experience one of the most lovely in the state. And, as an added bonus, there's even a fun gift shop located right inside the bridge!
The Covered Bridge House is a bed & breakfast located in Glen and you'll love its charm, its location and the fun covered bridge that's right next door!
The inn is a 1900 center hall colonial style home.
And the decor is perfectly quaint and offers one of the most New Hampshire vibes you can find.
The home features two types of rooms, a classic queen and the larger suite. Both are beautiful and offer country-decor. Some rooms even have views of the Saco River.
Speaking of the river, the inn gets its name from the nearby Bartlett Covered Bridge which was built in the 1850s and spans the river.
The bridge is just one of the 53 covered bridges still standing in the state. It was sold to Isabelle Casinelli in 1965 who lived in the inn when it was a private residence.
Mrs. Casinelli had a small and adorable gift built within the covered bridge and when the current owners purchased the inn, the bridge came too!
Inside are a variety of souvenir items to remind visitors of their time in New Hampshire.
And it's such a fun, unexpected element of the visit to the bed & breakfast.
Enjoy a weekend away by booking a room, enjoy the covered bridge views as well as some time at the Saco River relaxing.
This is a great way to experience the state in a whole new way!
Covered Bridge House Bed & Breakfast is open year-round and can be booked through their website. Visiting the site is also a great way to learn more about their history. If you're not quite ready to book remember to follow them on Facebook to keep up with specials and events. They can be reached on 603-383-9109.
