You've got to love how creative some Airbnb properties are, and this one in Wahoo really takes the cake...or maybe that should be beer. The inside has been designed to look just like an Irish pub, complete with a little inn for overnight guests. It's a fun experience in this neat little town, and it looks like the perfect place for your next weekend getaway.
This unassuming home in the tiny Saunders County town of Wahoo may not look like it's hiding a fun secret.
It would be easy to assume that it's just like any other house on any other block...until you walk in and take a look around.
The home's interior has been styled after an Irish pub. There are wooden bar stools pulled up to the counter, and several small round tables with vintage chairs occupy most of the main area.
There's a cozy seating area off in a little nook to the side that's perfect for reading, having a conversation, or just enjoying a pint or two. The comfy chairs will make you want to sit and stay for a while.
If you've ever been to an actual pub in the Republic of Ireland or the UK, the setup will look familiar. From the wood-clad walls to the many beer signs to the old wood-burning stove, it really does feel like you've been transported to a different part of the world.
The only thing missing is the alcohol. Although the Airbnb looks like a pub, it doesn't come with a stocked bar. However, visitors are welcome to bring their own to really complete the whole pub experience.
When you're ready to retire for the night, you'll have your choice of two bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with a queen-size bed. The "pub" is only two blocks away from Wahoo's downtown area, and it's practically right on the town's hiking and biking trail.
There are bikes and kayaks available to borrow if you'd like to get out and experience the outdoors. There's even an exercise room with several pieces of equipment so you can work off all that delicious beer.
