If you've ever visited the city of Nashville, the idea of a ski lodge tucked away in the heart of the city probably sounds pretty silly. We have some beautiful, rolling hills and the best fall foliage this side of the Mississippi, but snow? It's not a thing. Our solid lack of mountains in Middle Tennessee also makes it a bit hard to hit the slopes. If you find yourself craving some powder and the cozy fun of a ski lodge, then you definitely need to check out Embers Ski Lodge, a neighborhood bar with a whole lot of character.
Embers Ski Lodge is known as a neighborhood bar and restaurant, a gem amongst gems on the 12 South strip. Located near Belmont and Vanderbilt, it's a popular hangout for of-age Midwesterners looking for a reminder of home.
The entire interior design is inspired by Aspen Mountain in Colorado. You'll find that the wood-centric design, cozy colors and warm lighting will warm you up even on the chilliest of days.
Whereas the design hails from Aspen, the menu takes its inspiration from the Pacific Northwest. The cocktails are also inventive and well-honed, paired with the largest whiskey selection in the entire city of Nashville. That's quite the honor, folks.
Embers Ski Lodge notes on its website that, "The Pacific Northwest is a major point of entry into the US for goods and services from Far East Asia," going on to elaborate on how Asian influence is strong across the menu. You can indulge in everything from steak rangoons, filled with Korean bbq style flank steak to the Mount Everest Burger.
You can also indulge in the "Flatlander" lobster roll, made with Maine lobster claw and served atop a toasted New England style bun. We ordered the coconut shrimp po'boy and it gave us New Orleans cravings like we haven't felt before. What a dream, to travel the world across their menu.
Embers hosts Mule Mondays, where mules are a scant $5, an event that has earned quite the following.
Have you visited Embers before? Do you think you'll make your way out for dinner sometime? We'll probably be there!
You can visit this mountain-inspired eatery for yourself at 2410 12th Avenue S in Nashville, Tennessee. From Monday to Thursday you can visit from 3pm to midnight, from 11am to 2am on Friday and Saturday and from 11am to midnight on Sundays.
Make sure that you stop by this delicious all-you-can-eat southern buffet in Nashville if you're looking - it's the perfect spot for an intimate family event.
