The zoo itself covers roughly 82 acres, and is zoning 106 acres for eventual expansion. With over 339 species, there are approximately 6,230 animals that make their home at the Nashville zoo.
Since it's such an attractive and affordable option for families, the zoo has made a name for itself as the top paid attraction in Middle Tennessee. That's quite the honor! Almost 800,000 people visited in 2013 alone.
Boo at the Zoo is just one of the many events hosted throughout the year that are well worth the time and monetary investment. Targeted towards kids and families, it takes place on multiple nights throughout the month of October.

Thought quite a few animals go to bed during the early evening, the antelope, ostrich, flamingos and zebra will be up to enjoy the fun of Boo at the Zoo. There will be food and drink to purchase on-site, but the zoo graciously allows for outside fare to be brought in as well.
Feel free to dress up, but keep it friendly! Boo at the Zoo is targeted towards little ones, so nothing scary. Tickets are available now, with admission starting at just $19 a person. There are ten nights on the calendar now, so make sure to buy early and plan ahead.
