Whether adventure's calling or you simply want some time away from it all, you won't find a better place to go than camping at Mark Twain State Park in Florida.
While the Missouri State Park spans more than 2,700 acres, you'll still feel far away from the noises of daily life.
The three campgrounds at Mark Twain State Park have something for adventurers of all sorts. If you'd like an old-fashioned getaway, pitch a tent among the towering trees.
Badger, Coyote, and Puma Campgrounds are all open year-round. However, showers and water are only available from April 15 through October 31 annually.
Or reserve a spot to park your RV. If you're bringing kiddos, opt for a stay at the Puma Campground. It features such amenities as a playground, showerhouse, restroom, and vault toilets.
If you're all about coziness when it comes to camping, book one of the camper cabins at Puma. While the cabins have heating and A/C, you'll still get the real camping experience. You'll have to walk to the nearby restrooms, and there is no water in the cabin.
When you're not out exploring, grill a meal or relax on your front porch.
Pack your swimming gear if you're visiting during the summer. The sandy beach leads into Mark Twain State Park, perfect for cooling off on those hot days.
