The next time you need to get away, forget leaving the state. Mississippi’s got a new resort that has everything you could want – and then some. Spread out over 48 acres, Gulfport’s Centennial Plaza is set to be a premier destination. And with great restaurants, luxe hotels, and a water park, it's a must visit for the entire family. Take a look:
Dubbed "the crown jewel of the Mississippi Gulf Coast," Centennial Plaza is a 48-acre resort complex. Rather new, it opened earlier this month.
The "perfect destination" features two hotels, a couple of restaurants, a three-acre water playground, and a 25,000-gallon dancing fountain.
As historic as it is luxe, the resort is housed in 10 beautifully restored buildings from yesteryear.
On the grounds, you’ll find two hotels – Oasis Resort and Grand Centennial Hotel. Both have their perks, but if you’re traveling with children, you’ll want to stay at the Oasis Resort, which has Kids Suites.
The kid-friendly suites include bunk beds for children and a larger bed for adults – all of which is separated by a wall, giving adults a bit of privacy when needed.
Regardless of which hotel you stay at, you’ll have access to the plaza’s three-acre water playground.
Fun for all ages, the water park features a splash pad, two water slides, 950’ lazy river, zero-entry swimming pool, and swim-up bar.
In addition to great accommodations and a fun-filled water playground, the Centennial Plaza features a few restaurants.
Dine on tasty seafood dishes at the Blue Marlin. Or, head to Mr. Jackie’s Wine Bar, where you’ll find an impressive selection of 45 wines and a menu filled with delicious small plates.
Oasis Grill is another option. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it features a menu of tasty classics, like burgers and pizzas.
