There are certain places that just bring out the kid in you, and a candy store is definitely one of those places. Sadly, these sweet shops aren’t as common as they once were but they do still exist and the Candy Cottage is a great example. Filled with nostalgia and sweet treats, a visit to the Ocean Springs candy shop makes for one memorable experience.
Located in the downtown area of Ocean Springs, the old-fashioned candy store is a must-visit when in the area.
The story behind the Candy Cottage begins long ago with a family tradition. In the 1930s, Mr. and Mrs. Foote owned and operated Foote’s restaurant in Louisiana, where they sold their signature Solid Pecan Log.
The secret family recipe used to make the sweet treat was passed down for generations and eventually motivated the Foote’s great granddaughter to open the Candy Cottage.
Today, the famous pecan log along with specialty and traditional candies can be purchased at the Ocean Springs candy shop.
The walls are lined with shelves filled with a mouthwatering assortment of candy.
It'll be hard to not feel nostalgic as you browse the selection of old-fashioned sweet treats, like saltwater taffy and stick candy.
There are also a ton of sweet treats that are made onsite, including mouthwatering pralines and chocolate-dipped Twinkies.
There are also more traditional treats, such as fudge and chocolate covered pretzels.
Can't make a decision? No problem; samples are available. It just doesn't get any sweeter.
