After a long winter indoors, all we can think about is how we'll enjoy being outside immersed in nature. But that doesn't mean we need to take long hikes through the woods. Nature just outside our door is good enough for us and that's why we've been on the lookout for overnight experiences that allow us to disappear for a little while. This option might be totally unexpected and we love it!

Welcome to Starlight Llama Bed & Breakfast in Northampton! The state's first off-grid, solar-powered bed and breakfast, this special little place might just surprise you.
John and Dee opened Starlight in 2008 to highlight the benefits and ease of using solar power.
And today it's the only place you can wake up, enjoy an incredible breakfast prepared with ingredients from the garden and then enjoy animals just outside your door.
The land here has been in the family for 6 generations and it offers lots to do. From hiking to biking to swimming to simply helping out around the farm, the world is your oyster when you plan a getaway to this beautiful area.
Of course, what we love most is the fact that wherever you turn there's a smiling furry face there to greet you. In addition to llamas, you'll also find donkeys and even emus.
Imagine this friendly guy bidding you a good day as you explore the grounds of Starlight.
There are three rooms available for overnight stays, each with their own special touches. The Lavender room looks out over the farm, which means you can easily take a peek in the morning to plan which animal friends you'll be greeting.
The White Room is quite popular as it overlooks the emus, the eastern meadow and the woods. It's not uncommon to find a llama just outside the window!
Your days here will be spent enjoying nature, while coming as close to llamas as you can.
This fun experience can only be had here, so we recommend booking for the summer as soon as you're able.
Starlight Llama Bed and Breakfast can be booked year-round. You can learn more about their history and how to enjoy it through their website. Or, you can visit them on Airbnb. They can be reached on 413-584-1703. If you love the idea of getting up-close-and-personal with adorable animals, you're in luck! There are a few opportunities to do that right here. In fact, you can hang out with alpacas at this charming country farm in Massachusetts.
