Labor Day may mark the end of summer, but Louisiana’s temperatures tell a different story. Even with the kids returning to school, there are still plenty of opportunities for one last end-of-summer retreat. Here are some of the best rentals in Louisiana to spend the last few dog days of summer.
1. A-Frame Cabin in New Iberia
With those massive windows, this is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors while still enjoying air conditioning. This dreamy cabin in New Iberia can accommodate up to four guests and has a fully equipped kitchen, a hot tub, and a fire pit. The cabin is perfect for exploring the area—I’d recommend taking a trip over to Rip Van Winkle Gardens—it’s beautiful this time of year!
2. Townhome in Natchitoches
Warning—you may never want to leave this dreamy Airbnb in Natchitoches once you see it in person. The two-bedroom townhouse sits on the Cane River, and as you can see from the photo, you can go from bed to boat in a few steps! The home is located only 10 minutes from Downtown Natchitoches. Definitely spend some time strolling along Front Street—there’s plenty to see and do!
3. Waterfront House in Morringsport
There’s a lot to love about this waterfront rental in Morringsport, Louisiana. First, there are 10 beds… so you can bring the whole squad. The property sits on a gated hillside peninsula, and you’ll have plenty of privacy. We love the pool, hot tub, and fire pit. There’s a free, public boat launch across the street if you want to enjoy a day on the lake. The views from the living room are mesmerizing—it’s no wonder this rental has a 5-star rating.
4. Waterfront House in Cameron
If you haven’t had at least one beach day this summer, there’s still time! This beautiful home overlooks Holly Beach, one of my favorite beaches in Louisiana for sea shelling. The Gulf is just steps away from your bed, and you’ll absolutely love waking up to the sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore.
5. Treehouse in Youngsville
The inner child in you will thank you for booking a getaway in this awesome treehouse in Youngsville. The two-bedroom rental is surrounded by water and perched up high in the trees to give you a one-of-a-kind experience. Bring your tackle box and do some fishing from the pier!
