There are many phenomenal campgrounds in the Bluegrass State; Moffit Lake Recreation Area is a beautiful, remote campground in Morganfield, Kentucky.
The remote campground in Morganfield, Kentucky, is about 10 miles from the town’s center. Morganfield is in south-central Kentucky and has a population of about 2,500. People know the area for its abundant farmland and friendly residents; Moffit Lake Recreation Area is a camper’s paradise, with 140 acres of land and a 66-acre lake.
Several camping options are available, including deluxe cabins, rustic cabins, and primitive tents for rent. Waterfront camping site rentals are also available for those wanting to bring their motorhome, travel trailer, camper van, or tent.
As the name suggests, the Moffit Lake Recreation Area takes recreation seriously.
There are courts for guests to play basketball and sand volleyball. Campers can also fish, kayak, boat, hike, and visit the playground on site.
Moffit Lake is at the campground’s center, and many of the campsites are along its shores.
Visitors can enjoy the lake by fishing for catfish, bass, bluegill, and crappie. Moffit Lake is large enough to accommodate boats with electric motors and has a boat ramp near its center.
The deluxe cabins at Moffit Lake Recreation Area have two queen beds and four twin beds.
The cabins have an open floor plan with a kitchen, living space, and dining area. These cabins also have a private bathroom and air conditioning, making them the perfect fit for those who prefer a comfortable camping experience!
The campground hosts periodic events for its guests.

Admission to Moffit Lake Recreation Area is free for daytime visitors who wish to enjoy the area but not stay overnight.
People driving through can stop to hike, bike, or have a picnic. A store on the property sells beverages, snacks, and basic fishing and camping supplies.
