Kansas City has all sorts of great places to stay, whether they're surrounded by beautiful scenery or filled with tasty breakfasts. When you're looking for a unique place to stay around Kansas City, there's nothing better than this lodge that's been made from something old and well-used. Come take a look!
Welcome to The Coal House Lodge, a cozy bed and breakfast in a building you've probably never seen before.
Head down a brick path to the back entrance to see the inside, and truly get a feel for the rustic hideaway of your dreams. Have you guessed what the building is made out of yet?
The second and third floors of this building house the lodge itself, but the whole structure used to be a coal elevator.
Climbing the wrought iron staircase, you can't imagine that this once housed coal when you look at just how much love has been put into decorating it just so.
Here at this lodge, you've got a special opportunity to explore the building and nature around it.
When you'd like to leave this little one-room lodge and explore, you can rent vintage bicycles with one or two seats, or explore Weston Bluffs Trail that runs right by the lodge. You can also explore Weston, or choose to stay here and not be bothered by anyone except for breakfast. You've got your own key, so come and go as you please!
The best part about staying at the Coal House is by far the scenery.
Sunsets out here are just as beautiful as Kansas City's, without and big buildings to block your view. Enjoy your time out in the countryside and find peace in the lack of horns and sirens. What more could you want?
You'll find The Coal House Lodge at 201 Welt Street in Weston, Missouri. Or, feel free to check it out using the map below instead. Happy travels!
