Have you ever been to Charlestown State Park? It's Indiana's third-largest state park and, somehow, one of its most underrated as well. There are lots of things about the park to enjoy - my favorite park is the abandoned amusement park on an island you can walk to - and the great news is that if you fall in love with it, you can spend up to 14 consecutive days here. Come out to Charlestown State Park and fall in love with the best campground near Charlestown, Indiana!
Charlestown State Park is an awesome example of Indiana's beauty both past and present.
It's home to more than 70 species of birds, over 15 miles of trails, and SO much more. It's a whole adventure all wrapped into one 5100-acre package.
....and camping here is a breeze!
With everything from primitive sites to full-hookup electric RV ones, you're sure to find exactly what you need for your night(s) out.
Surrounded by greenery and woodlands, this place is particularly lovely in the spring and summer.
Wildflowers and wildlife abound - you never know what you'll spot. I hear rumors that there's a large gang of wild turkeys that likes to frequent the grounds, too. If you've never been chased by an angry turkey, have you ever really lived?
I think not, but I digress.
Charlestown State Park is an awesome place to hang your hat for a bit; it's home to amazing hiking trails, a sparkling blue lake, and even the spooky remains of a 1920s amusement park. It's all sorts of adventures all wrapped up into one, and I couldn't adore it more.
