If you're looking to escape the city for a few days, there's no better place to retreat to than Elkhorn Bed and Breakfast. Hiding out in the countryside near the tiny town of Mesa, this is certainly one of the most idyllic getaway destinations in the state.
Its remote destination isn't the only thing that draws visitors to this rustic B&B. Located on a working goat and sheep farm, this place gives visitors a small taste of what Idaho farm life is really like!
Upon arriving at the ranch, you'll instantly be welcomed by the owner, Debra, and encouraged to feel right at home. This is a real, working ranch, and the decor of the place certainly reflects that. The interior definitely has a strong cowboy vibe to it, and it's absolutely charming.
During the day, guests can take advantage of the abundance of recreation opportunities in the area. Hells Canyon, Lost Lake, the Weiser River Trail, and more are all located nearby. Afterwards, you can spend the evening relaxing and observing the goats, sheep, and chickens roaming the farm.
Guests will enjoy a cozy stay in the ranch's guest bedroom. In the morning, Debra makes a full ranch-style breakfast for guests, featuring milk and cheese from the farm's goats along with other locally sourced ingredients.
Whereas other B&Bs operate more like a small-scale hotel, Elkhorn Bed and Breakfast is different. When you stay here, you're staying on a real farm and sleeping in somebody's real home. It's an extraordinary experience that is bound to leave a lasting impression.
