It is no secret that here at Only In Your State, we love our hot springs. With more than 130 soakable hot springs around the state to enjoy, there are plenty of places to relax and unwind in the warm water. However, for an overnight adventure that you are going to love, complete with a cozy cabin and nearby hot springs, plan a visit to Boiling Springs Cabin in the Boise National Forest. Just north of Crouch, you will find one of the best cabin rentals in Idaho. It’s nothing fancy but it’s perfect if you want to spend some time outdoors and in an Idaho hot spring.
Crouch, Idaho is a small and charming town that is located in Boise County. It is a rustic and rural town with approximately 200 residents.
In addition to simply enjoying the unique vibe of this town, a visit to Two Rivers Grill is an absolute must. This delicious restaurant also boasts a rustic vibe, has a gorgeous patio, and the food is incredible.
Just north of Crouch, in the Boise National Forest, is the Boiling Springs Cabin. This cabin rental in Idaho is the perfect base camp for an outdoor lover.
This cabin is situated 4,025 feet above sea level in a narrow mountain valley. It is located right between a hot spring, stream, and the Middle Fork Payette River.
The cabin isn’t large but it can comfortably sleep up to five guests. Inside, you will find a couch, table and chairs, sink, refrigerator, wood stove, and a propane cook range.
Outside of the cabin is a vault toilet, picnic table, and campfire.
If you are like me, I love to disconnect when on vacation and the Boiling Springs Cabin is ideal.
You do not receive service at the cabin and no electricity is available. You will need to bring your own lighting, garbage bags, and bedding. Also, if you wish to use the wood stove, bring an axe to split wood.
Keep in mind that in the summer you can drive to the cabin but in the winter, no roads are plowed to the cabin and access is only available via snowmobile.
But the cabin isn’t the only star of this accommodation — it’s the outdoor attractions. You can spend your days relaxing in the on-site hot springs. There are nearby hot springs as well if you want a change of scenery.
In the summer, there are also portions of the Middle Fork Payette River that are perfect for time in the water. You can bring a canoe and kayak or go for a swim. This is also a great place for fishing as well.
If you want to explore, there are many nearby hiking trails, as well as off-road vehicle trails. During the winter, these trails are perfect to explore on snowshoes or cross-country skis. You may also want to explore nearby roads on a snowmobile.
