Whether you’re planning your first-ever trip to the Aloha State or you’re simply planning a weekend getaway to a neighboring island, choosing where to stay can be difficult — especially when you’re on a budget. Luckily, this remote oasis on Oahu’s north shore exists. Known as the "Orchard Oasis," this off the grid accommodation sure to make you feel as though you’re a million miles away from civilization.
Part glamping destination, part bed and breakfast, all incredible. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?
Located within a private gated community nestled at the base of Oahu's highest peak, Mt. Ka'ala, this Orchard Oasis is the perfect place to get away from it all and connect with nature.
Step off the grid just five miles away from the historic town of Haleiwa, where you will find a variety of shops and restaurants. The north shore's numerous beaches are also all found nearby.
Stay in one of two waterproof, mold-proof, and UV-proof tentalow with a locking front door and windows or one of the other two organically-built structures on the property.
After a good night's rest, wake up to the sounds of birds start your day with freshly-grown fruit, eggs from the property's chickens, a hot cup of coffee, and yoga on the deck. Can you imagine a better way to start your day in paradise?
While this oasis is certainly off the grid by most standards, you will find many of the common comforts of home, including electricity generated from solar panels, water collected from a private artesian well and headed with solar panels, private bathrooms with compostable flushing toilets with running water, and private outdoor showers.
You will also have access to electrical outlets, wi-fi, and an outdoor kitchen.
The units are located on two large organic tropical fruit orchards you can roam through. When in season, guests can pick and enjoy avocados, mangoes, papayas, bananas, lychee, guava, lilikoi, star fruit, figs, pomegranate, oranges, tangerines, and more.
You can even purchase fresh vegetables from the certified organic vegetable farm located just a few hundred yards away. There is also a bonfire pit available for use, and you can also find surf lessons and board rentals at the property.
The next time you want to get away from it all and truly relax, consider ditching the spa vacation and stay at the off the grid bed and breakfast to reconnect with nature and enjoy an unforgettable and much needed respite from your stressful life.
