For starters, you can set up shop on the beautiful Lake Lanier which is a very popular option. But you can also glamp on Clarks Hill in Augusta, too!

Founded in 2018, Timberline offers a handful of options to stay and play starting with the safari tents.

At one of my favorite campgrounds with tubing near me, you can spend the weekend camping in Georgia and go river tubing, as well! Get ready for the ultimate adventure, Georgians. Spend the weekend floating in the river, then cozy up to a roaring campfire at Toccoa Valley Campground & Tubing in Georgia. Just a few miles from the small mountain town of Blue Ridge, the ultimate camping and tubing adventure in Georgia awaits.

Once you get settled in, prepare for a day of adventure on the river with a tubing trip that even shuttles you back up to the campground!

Or if you prefer, you can reserve a single-person tube for an epic floating excursion in Georgia, which includes the shuttle trip back, which usually takes about two hours total.

Get Away From It All At This Remote And Beautiful Campground In Georgia

Life can get stressful sometimes, and what better way to escape than to enjoy a weekend of camping in Georgia? There are some epic campgrounds all over the Peach State, and if you live near the state capital, you might think you don't have too many options for getting in touch with nature in an isolated spot... but you'd be wrong. The remote campground near Atlanta that we're featuring today may only be about 20 minutes away from the state's city, but it feels like a lifetime! Panola Mountain State Park is one of the most underrated state parks around. The natural wonder that shares the park's name is the most popular destination here, but many people don't know that the park has a small primitive campground with five campsites that are absolutely stunning.

The landscape at Panola Mountain State Park is quite unusual. The mountain that shares the park's name is a 100-acre rock that's 260 feet above the surrounding area.

Like the more famous Stone Mountain, Panola Mountain is a monadnock, an isolated mountain that is surrounded by virtually flat land. The mountain features a unique ecosystem that's virtually untouched.

You'll find plenty of great recreational opportunities at Panola Mountain State Park, including miles of hiking trails through the surrounding woods.

The park's two lakes span 35 combined acres, making for incredible water views and perfect fishing sites.
