Life can be hard - don't you ever just feel overwhelmed by it all? The responsibilities of work, family, and chores can really add up and do a number on your stress levels. I love my cell phone and I love modern technology, but the feeling of constantly being connected to everyone and everything can take a drain on my mental health. Do you ever get the urge to just unplug and get away? The next time you're looking for an off the grid escape, we've got the perfect option. Getaway House has tiny cabins in more than two dozen cities all over the country. They offer up the perfect way to disconnect and relax in a beautiful setting that will let you connect with nature instead of your phone. The Georgia Getaway House is located in the little town of Suches, GA, and it offers up a wonderfully tranquil escape. Check it out:
The Getaway House outpost in Suches, GA is made up of 30 cabins situated on 56 private acres.
It's just a two-hour drive from Atlanta, but the lush, wooded views will make you feel a lifetime away from the city.
Each of the Getaway cabins here are between 140-200 square feet. They all have a kitchenette with everything you need to prepare meals, plus a private bathroom, 1-2 queen beds, air conditioning, and heat.
Basically, they've got everything you need and nothing that you don't!
One thing that can feel like a need even though it's really not is your cell phone. That's why each Getaway cabin comes with a cell phone lock box so you can put your phone away and reconnect with nature (or your loved ones, if you're traveling with a group).
Speaking of loved ones, each Getaway cabin is dog-friendly, with an additional pet fee.
The cabins come stocked with all the ingredients for s'mores over the outdoor fire pit.
Best of all, this area of the state has no shortage of outdoor attractions.
Suches is not far from the Appalachian Trail, and there's lots of great hiking within a short drive of the Getaway outpost. Gooch Gap (pictured) is an excellent area for a trek with stellar views.
You're also right within the heart of the magnificent Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, so it should come as no surprise that this is such a pretty area.
