Sapelo Island offers some truly beautifully rustic camping in Georgia. You can set up camp at Cabretta Island, located within the R.J. Reynolds Wildlife Refuge, right under the dripping Spanish moss, and near the salty beach dunes. It's like camping in a beach dream.

2. Tybee Island—River’s End Campground: 5 Fort Ave, Tybee Island, GA, 31328

River's End Campground is a magical camping experience just 1.5 blocks from the beach and a short drive to Savannah. You can bring a tent, bring your RV, or even choose a cabin, with over 100 hook up sites and primitive spots available. Tybee Island is the perfect spot to adventure and explore, with miles of pristine beaches.

You've probably been to Jekyll Island, but have you camped there? Located at the northern end of the island, just a skip and jump away from Driftwood Beach, you'll find over 200 RV and primitive sites to choose from. 4. Cumberland Island National Seashore—Sea Camp Campground

Cumberland Island should be on your bucket list. The free-roaming horses alone making this one of the most unique experiences in Georgia. Imagine waking up at your campsite with wild horses grazing nearby. It's an adventure of a lifetime.

Spanish moss draped over your campsite, the sun peeking through the jagged branches, and the nearby intracoastal waterway right in your backyard. This Georgia campsite is pure Georgia beauty and deserves to be experienced at least once this month.

6. Ossabaw Island Camping, 305 Fahm St, Savannah, GA, 31401

The thing about Ossabaw Island is that it's miles of unspoiled beach, and a natural wonderland. The camping is very sparse - three primitive campsites only. But there are accommodations for up to 30 people maximum. Oh, and it's worth mentioning, that this is real primitive camping. There are no stores on Ossabaw. Campers must bring all of their food and prepare their own meals.

7. Cumberland Island National Seashore—Stafford Beach Campground: Stafford Beach Rd, St Marys, GA, 31558

Another camping spot on Cumberland Island worth noting is the Stafford Beach Campground. There are tons of backcountry sites to choose from, plus a few restrooms and cold showers. Ferry or private boat access is needed to reach the property, but this just means more seclusion and better beach enjoyment.
