There's no shortage of incredible places to stay in Georgia. We've got historic inns galore, tons of wonderful Airbnbs, unique resorts, and so much more. If you're looking for somewhere that combines small city charm, history, and beautiful scenery, we've got just the spot: Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast. This little spot is the perfect getaway in the growing city of Americus in southwest Georgia. Check it out:
The Americus Garden Inn is tucked away in Americus, a city of about 15,000 people that's the county seat of Sumter County. Even though it's not a small town by population, the city has a wonderfully quaint vibe that makes it feel much smaller than it is.
The Americus Garden Inn was constructed in 1847, over a decade before the Civil War broke out. The home is in the historic district of Americus, a neighborhood that's filled with sprawling Victorian homes.
The bed and breakfast features seven air-conditioned rooms, each with its own private bathroom. Wi-Fi is available throughout the premises, making this a great confluence of modernity with history.
A full hot breakfast is included with every stay. With juices, coffee, a freshly-baked item, fruit, a hot entree, and made-from-scratch pancakes, you certainly won't start the day off hungry!
One of the most remarkable things about the Americus Garden Inn is the beautiful 1.3-acre garden on site. Common areas, like the garden and the dining room, are available 24 hours a day to guests.
The garden was re-landscaped in 2008 and now features more than 100 trees and 750 perennials. It's a dream to behold and such a wonderful setting for a few days' getaway in Americus.
