Is anyone looking for an ultimate family-friendly vacation without breaking the bank? How about the type of place where both magic and nature do the tango in perfect synchronicity? If you answered yes to either of those questions, then you'll love visiting The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. With over 750 acres of pine and cypress forest, explore enchanting woodland trails, splash into spectacular pool areas, and dive into pure entertainment in this whimsical backcountry getaway. One of my favorite ways to decompress is through camping, and what's even more is when I can add a little bit of magic into the mix, too.
Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground is an enchanting retreat tucked away in the vast expanse of Walt Disney World Resort in sunny Orlando, Florida.
Sprawled across a whopping 750 acres of lush wilderness, it's your ticket to a laid-back escape from the hustle and bustle of nearby theme parks. This place beautifully marries the rustic joys of camping with the sheer Disney magic.
The beating heart of Fort Wilderness is its campsite area, where you've got a smorgasbord of cozy digs to choose from.
Whether you're into tent camping, rolling in with an RV, or fancy hunkering down in a snug wilderness cabin, they've got you covered. All these spots come with the must-haves – think water, electricity, picnic tables, and grills – making roughing it a breeze.
But what really makes Fort Wilderness shine is its endless lineup of fun stuff to do.
Picture this: you and your family galloping through forest trails on horseback, gliding along Bay Lake on a leisurely boat ride, or channeling your inner Katniss Everdeen with archery and casting lines for some good ol' fishing.
Or you can spend the afternoon beating the Florida heat at the on-site pool. Meadow Swimmin’ Pool is perfect for all ages, with kids opting for the corkscrew waterslide and adults looking to relax in the whirlpool spa.
Other unique amenities that are a part of this magical campground include spending time at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch, where guests can meet and greet the iconic Disney horses, including Cinderella's ponies and the majestic Percherons that pull Cinderella's carriage.
There's also the opportunity for pony rides, carriage rides, and wagon rides, adding an extra layer of Disney magic.
And when the sun sets, you've got the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, a raucous dinner show filled with mouthwatering grub and toe-tapping tunes.
Fort Wilderness effortlessly blends nature's serenity with Disney's world-class hospitality and entertainment.
So whether you're toasting marshmallows by a crackling campfire, catching a movie under a starlit sky, or navigating the extensive network of walking and biking trails, this hidden gem promises an unforgettable vacation filled with magic.
