Everyone knows you can find clever cabins, treehouses, and beach cottages on Airbnb, but many don't realize that you can rent a whole boat to sleep on. There are three available for rent in Connecticut; read on to learn more about the nautical experiences available.
1. Sleep on a boat in Stamford
This charming yacht comes equipped with a fireplace, heat, AC, wood-burning stove, and grill. There's also a galley — that's boat language for kitchen. The galley includes a toaster, coffee-maker, and hot water kettle.
Relax in the onboard hammock, play some board games, or enjoy the Stamford restaurant and nightlife scene. There are two great restaurants right at the marina.
Sleeping accommodations are cozy; you can choose to sleep in the berth at the front of the boat or in the main part of the cabin. Guests can't take the boat out for a spin on their own, but chartered rides can be arranged.
3. River Houseboat, Newtown
Where the Pootatuck River meets a small pond at the base of a mountain, a small houseboat sits waiting for guests in need of quiet retreat.
The queen bed is adorably situated and looks super cozy.
There's a screen porch with two antique rocking chairs. Relax here, or hike up the mountain, walk the labyrinth, or meditate in the fairy gazebo. Guests can also join in on farm activities.
3. Romantic perfection on the sound, Westport
This sailboat comes equipped with everything you'll need for a relaxing getaway: fridge, hot water, wifi, projector, sterling, crystal, linen, and down.
The boat has 6 berths, including two doubles. It's a small boat, so the owner doesn't recommend trying to squeeze too many adults on. It's perfect for a romantic escape.
The boat is easily accessible from the Westport train station. It's accessible by water, so you'll take a launch boat out to your destination for relaxation.
Which of these experiences is most appealing to you? Would you prefer a relaxing mountainside retreat on a pond or a nautical experience on the sound? If you're interested in booking one of these boats for yourself, head to Airbnb.
