Located on the shoreline in Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park is a local treasure. With two miles of sandy beach, hiking trails, wildlife, and a campground, this oasis is the perfect place for a family getaway.
The campground offers 552 grassy campsites with 56 offering electrical hookups. Just a few of the amenities include restrooms, showers, a camp store, and water spigots at the campsites.

Choose from a huge variety of spots to pitch your tent or park your camper. Some sites are shaded while others are open with views of the intercoastal waterways.

Visit Hammonasset Beach for a fun-filled day of swimming, sandcastle building, and seashell hunting. The beach is just a short walk or bike ride from the camping area at Hammonasset State Park.
Meigs Point in the state park offers a unique opportunity for exploring the rockier shoreline. Kids love to hunt for crabs and climb the boulders.
You'll also find the nature center at that end of the park. Discover wildlife native to the area and learn about local conservation efforts.
Hammonasset Beach Campground also has a playground, volleyball courts, and an amphitheater where they show weekend movies.

The state park is open for day use year-round to visitors. Hammonasset Beach Campground is open from May - October and reservations must be made in advance through Reserve America online.
