San Francisco is a city that never fails to captivate! If you're planning a trip to this unforgettable city, consider staying in this unique Bali-inspired vacation rental. Located on a quiet street in the Castro District, this retreat offers a serene oasis where you can relax and rejuvenate. Spend your days doing all the things in San Francisco and end your days at this enchanting retreat. Ideally, you'll want to have at least two full days to explore San Francisco and stay in this incredible VRBO for rent in San Francisco.
Start your day making a delicious breakfast in the gourmet kitchen that overlooks the well-manicured garden of your VRBO. After breakfast, take a leisurely walk to Golden Gate Park.
This massive park has walking trails, ponds, a botanical garden, windmills, museums, and even an enclosure with Bison. This park is even bigger than Central Park in New York City. You’ll want to have an entire day to explore the park.
Here are some places in the park we recommend: Visit the California Academy of Sciences to see the living rooftop, walk around the picturesque Stowe Lake, stop by the Bison paddock to gaze at these massive animals, and, finally, visit the Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden and Dutch Windmill.
Other main attractions include the Japanese Tea Garden, where tranquil ponds, vibrant flora, and traditional pagodas create a serene ambiance. Many visitors also consider the de Young Museum to be a must-see. See some incredible art collections and don't forget to ascend to the observation deck for breathtaking views of the park and the city.
Some of the best restaurants near the western side of the park include the always-cozy Beach Chalet and the Park Chalet. Located inside Golden Gate Park next to Ocean Beach, this beautiful restaurant serves elevated California cuisine and tasty cocktails.
There's also the wildly popular Hook Fish in the Outer Sunset– this seafood shack serves fresh, gourmet food in a modern and down-to-earth atmosphere.
When you arrive back at this VRBO after a day of exploring, there is a multitude of ways to unwind: rinse off under the multi-head rainshower, pour a glass of wine, and relax next to the fire table in the cool night air.
Or step into the outdoor hot tub, surrounded by the soothing sounds of a flowing water feature.
This VRBO sleeps up to four people, with a queen-sized bed in the primary suite, and a queen-sized air mattress in the study area.
This rental exudes peace and serenity with 11-foot high ceilings, an air purification system, mood lighting, and remote operable skylights. The harmonious blend of natural elements and modern comforts creates a fantastic ambiance.
Don’t feel silly doing the touristy stuff. Even locals enjoy going to Fisherman’s Wharf every now and then. Since you walked so much on your first day here, consider taking a rideshare to get around the city. We suggest you start your day at Fisherman’s Wharf. If anything, you have to see the seal lions on the pier.
Stroll towards Crissy Field and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Rent bikes at the Sports Basement or one of the other vendors along your walk toward the bridge.
The most enjoyable way to cross the Golden Gate Bridge is on a bike. You’ll see breathtaking views of the bay, the city, Marin Headlands, and the wild Pacific Ocean. Bike to Sausalito where you can shop, dine, and wine taste. Then catch the ferry back to the city with all the other day visitors and cyclers.
Have a dining experience you’ll never forget at the Tonga Room, a Polynesian-style restaurant with a moat in the middle located in the basement of the Fairmont.
At this location, you’re at the perfect place to take the Powell Street cable car or California Street cable car. Both are fun but from here the California Street car has the best views of the Bay Bridge. Enjoy cocktails at Cafe Terminus at the bottom of the hill. From there, it’s a quick ride back to The Castro.
San Francisco is a city of contrasts, with a lot of urban amenities, plus lots of natural beauty.
By choosing to stay in a Bali-inspired VRBO, you'll have the opportunity to experience the best of both worlds. Your stay in this unique VRBO will undoubtedly add an extra layer of magic to your San Francisco experience.
In addition to the experiences mentioned above, there are a few more must-see attractions in San Francisco that should not be missed if you have the time. The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) is a haven for art enthusiasts, housing a vast collection of contemporary and modern artworks. The Ferry Building, located along the Embarcadero, is a bustling marketplace where you can indulge in local artisanal products, and gourmet food, and enjoy views of the Bay Bridge. Don't forget to explore the vibrant neighborhoods of Chinatown and North Beach (Little Italy), each offers a unique cultural experience and delicious culinary delights.
