As Buffalonians, we may be hundreds of miles away from New York's highest mountaintops but that doesn't mean that we still can't achieve outstanding, elevated views here around the western half of our state. To those who are looking to reach attractions that offer a bird's eye view of our region's fall foliage, look no further than this gorgeous fall chairlift ride in Cattaraugus County.
Just one of the many reasons we love traveling to the village of Ellicottville is to hitch a ride on Holiday Valley Resort's scenic chairlift, especially during this time of the year.
While you may be used to making this hour-long drive to enjoy Holiday Valley's ski trails, during the fall season you can enjoy a whole new side of this resort.
Through October 13th, you can ride the fall chairlift from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m for just $10 dollars (kids 6 years old and younger are free) to reach amazing views of Western New York's foliage.
Once you're at the top of the ride, you can walk around the mountaintop and explore all around Spruce Lake to fully explore the foliage.
If you're wondering when you should head out to Holiday Valley to enjoy this ride, the weekend of October 12th & 13th is good to keep in mind.
On October 12th & 13th, Holiday Valley Resort will host the Ellicottville Fall Festival - a weekend full of family fun.
At the top of the chairlift ride during the Ellicottville Fall Festival, Mardi Gras awaits you with live music, food, drinks, and the colorful views of Western New York.
This is one fall activity that the entire family can enjoy, so come see what it's like to ride up the mountaintop to see the foliage on Holiday Valley's chairlift this season.
