The 9,000-square-foot mansion began as a quaint little cottage in 1876. It was then renovated in the early 1920s by its owner and the namesake of HSU, Charles Christopher Henderson, who was a prominent businessman.
In the years following, the historic house went through more additions as well as switched ownerships a few times. In 1979, this architectural wonder was sold to HSU. And the school used it as a museum, event venue, and as a bed and breakfast.
The magnificent mansion has been featured in Southern Living, and in 1998, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
After being closed for 2 years due to the pandemic, this stunning Victorian home is under new management, but it still has ties to HSU.
Recently reopened as a B&B and event venue, it features 8 suites, a music room, game room, kitchen and dining room, and so much more.
You’ll immediately fall in love with the breathtaking wrap-around porch that could be on the front page of Southern Living magazine.
Not to mention the well-manicured grounds that are worthy of a picture.
