YURT. No, it’s not a rude noise or a name right out of Dr. Seuss. YURT stands for Yearround Universal Recreational Tent, and with security against the elements, interesting appearances, and plush interiors, yurts are truly magical ways to camp out. In the Natural State there are four state parks that offer rent-a-yurt programs: DeGray Lake Resort State Park, Lake Catherine State Park, Lake Charles State Park, and Petit Jean State Park. Today we’re going to talk about one of the most unique yurt sites in the Natural State, and it’s the one at DeGray Lake Resort State Park.
DeGray Lake Resort State Park is located at 2027 State Park Entrance Road in Bismarck.
Let’s begin by saying how totally gorgeous Degray Lake is.
DeGray Lake is one of central Arkansas’s five diamond lakes, meaning it’s renowned for its clarity.
There’s a reason the word "resort" is right in the name, and that reason is that DeGray Lake Resort State Park is an incredible place to while away the hours.
Basically DeGray Lake is the perfect place to visit if you’re looking for a gorgeous retreat...
...and the yurts available to rent there are basically pure magic.
The yurts are tucked away in the trees, and surrounded by decking, making them even more enchanting.
The yurts sleep up to six people and include electricity, wood floors, screened windows, and a locking door. They are also equipped with a lantern, a stove, an ice chest, and cots.
Can you imagine any campsite cozier and more magical than one that looks like this:
Set next to a lake that looks like this:
I certainly can’t.
