Need a rustic and romantic little getaway? Why not head to this off-the-grid glamping B&B, where, among other fun places to bed down, you can camp out in a fully restored sheepherder's wagon? Wait til you see the inside of these camping wagons... they're primitive, but have many of the comforts of home. Take a look!
The wagons at Shash Dine' Eco-Retreat are cozy and quaint and have beautiful views of the pastoral land upon which they are parked.
The glampground is located in Page, and makes an ideal place to call home while you explore the local sights like Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, and Rainbow Bridge, to name a few. At home, next to your wagon, you'll find an intimate fire pit where you can come back from a day of sightseeing to enjoy the warm glow of the fire's light as the sun sets on the horizon.
The wagons come stocked with all the goodies you'll need for a true glamping experience. Bedding appropriate for the season is already in place so you can just hit the sack after that long day and the time spent by the cozy fire.
The restored sheepherder wagons have been retrofitted with plenty of storage for your things (under the bed) as well as some staple amenities you may need throughout your stay.
Additionally, the outside of the wagon has a hidden camp kitchen counter where you can prepare food.
Even if you've never wondered what it would be like to sleep in a chuck wagon, this is one experience you'll remember for a lifetime.
Shash Dine' Eco-Retreat and B&B is located on pastoral Navajo lands. The retreat also features authentic Navajo hogans as well as spacious bell tents, and one cabin; all are equipped with rustic versions of the comforts of home.
Shash Dine' Eco-Retreat and B&B is located on Hwy 89., Navajo Route 6211, Page, AZ 86040. Rates for accommodations vary. The retreat is open year-round, however accommodations within the sheepherder wagons may not be available during the winter season. (All other seasons are fair game, though!)
