River Island State Park is located in western Arizona, right near the border with California.
It's nestled alongside the Colorado River, offering ample space for camping and water recreation.
Both RV and tent campsites are available, several of which have beachfront access, and though there are costs per each type of vehicle, we promise: it's very affordable!
Reservations can be made online, but do note there is a two-night minimum stay for weekend camping.
On Memorial Day, Columbus Day, and Labor Day, three consecutive nights are required to book a spot.
Swimming, fishing, and boating are popular activities on the river.
Tucked away in a sandy alcove, the park provides a welcome respite from the summer heat.
A scenic hiking trail is within walking distance of the campground.
Bring the whole family along for an unforgettable adventure between dips in the water.
Protected from the current, River Island is a particularly family-friendly destination.
There's also a launch ramp for boats, so feel free to bring your own crafts.
No matter what your favorite way to enjoy the warmer weather is, it can be found at this Arizona hidden gem.
