Recently, the team at WalletHub compared over 170 of the most populous U.S. cities and how they measured up to 43 key indicators of good health. The data compared ranged from the cost of medical care to how many fitness clubs per capita the cities have. While Spokane, Tacoma, and Vancouver all earned a spot on the list (68, 69, and 52 respectively), Seattle managed to come in second on the list. Here's how the Emerald City earned that spot.
Seattle might be a major city, but it's also close to forests, mountains, and beaches.

Seattle came in first place on WalletHub's ranking of physically active adults.
Over half the locals are in good shape, probably because they walk everywhere.
The city has plenty of walking trails, urban hikes, bike paths, and more, ranking third on WalletHub's list of most running trails per capita...
... and there's certainly no shortage of fresh, delicious produce, which was another factor in the list-making.
Having access to nutritious foods is essential for good health.
Despite its reputation as one of America's rainiest cities, Seattle actually has plenty of beautiful days.
In fact, the city sees less annual rain fall than New Orleans, Boston, and West Palm Beach, just to name a few.
Seattle has been one of the country's healthiest and fittest cities for years, and it's nice to see it so high on the list for 2020.
And it seems as if other Washington cities are catching up quickly.
Although this city has had a rather gloomy winter this year, the weather can be a lot more pleasant than you're led to believe.
Seattle's walking paths get plenty of use.
We're glad to hear that the second healthiest city in America is located right here in Washington. But no matter what part of the state you call home, you're lucky to be a Washingtonian.
