You'd better be tough if you're going to hack it Vermont. And once you've lived here long enough, certain things are bound to happen at least once. How many of these have you already experienced?
1. Go for a hike.
Not just any hike, one that pushes your limits and has stellar views.
2. Eat some sugar on snow.
It sure is good, but the million dollar question here is: Do you follow your sugar on snow with a donut or a dill pickle?
3. Attend the Champlain Fair.
This 10 day fair has something for everyone and can be a sensory overload!
4. Cook on an open fire.
We love camp fires and could probably cook a gourmet meal with a fire, a pot and some fresh veggies.
5. Answer silly questions about Vermont.
How many of you have been asked "What state is Vermont in?" Insert eye roll here.
6. Visit a sugar shack.
There is no better way to appreciate all the hard work that goes into making this liquid gold than seeing the process first hand.
7. Take in the views from a mountaintop.
Whether you hike up, take a chairlift or a toll road, life sure is good when you're on top of the world.
8. Go sledding.
Or sliding. Whatever you call it - get ready, get set, GO!
9. Enjoy a creemee on a hot summer day.
They are oh-so-good!
10. Your car got buried in the snow.
It's happened to the best of us. Luckily, Vermonters are kind and helpful and will give you a hand getting it out.
11. Visit the Shelburne Museum.
A popular place for school field trips as well as family fun, the Shelburne Museum has a collection like none other.
12. Watched the sun set over Lake Champlain.
It's truly a stunning sight.
