Austin has seen some serious growth over the past few decades. Just like the fluctuating costs of gas that we complain about, everyone is complaining about the rising costs of living in the city. This includes renting and owning property and businesses. When we get caught up in the midst of, "This is SO expensive" and "I can't afford to live here anymore," we forget that the reason why Austin has become one of the richest cities in the nation is because of all of the little factors like our welcoming atmosphere, laid-back fun events, and oh-so much more. These are the 10 richest neighborhoods in Austin.
1. Circle C
In the 78739 zip code, home to lots of families with community parks and golf courses, that can afford the nearly million dollar price tags.
2. Lakeway
In the 78734 zip code, lucky residents here live in gated communities, lakeside living, and golf courses to explore.
3. Southwest Austin
In the 78737 zip code, homes like these in the Belterra community are more on the higher-end, and you can even look at purchasing acreage lots for custom home building.
4. Westlake
Of the 78746 zip code, these homes can typically be priced well over $1 million. Homes are close to Downtown and near high-rated schools.
5. Bee Cave
Of the 78738 zip code, Bee Cave has sweeping views of the hill country with a little bit of metro right in town. Did we mention golf courses, too?
6. West Austin
In the 78733 zip code, West Austin homes range from really swanky to really charismatic and newly renovated craftsman style homes. Idyllic isn't it!
7. The 78730
This area is located between Lake Austin and RR 2222. Folks who live here enjoy these types of views all day, right from their own front (or back) yard.
8. Driftwood
Homes in this area can look very similar to this Italian Restaurant in town. Homes are luxurious and surrounded by stunning hill country views, frequented by wealthy Austin citizens who need some peace and quiet.
9. Dripping Springs
Buyers come here for high-end suburban communities and acreage estates. Don't be fooled, it's still got a bit of country living going on!
10. East Austin
This area encompasses booming neighborhoods that build custom homes as seen here, Mueller. East Austin has a more eclectic and newer generational vibe.
Who would have thought that these luxurious neighborhoods were right in the middle of our eclectic and "weird" city? What do you think of the richest neighborhoods in Austin? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
