The creepy thriller, "21 Grams" was filmed in part within the city of blues, Memphis.
"Black Snake Moan," the dark and metaphoric cult film, was shot in Memphis and Stanton.
Loretta Lynn was born in Kentucky, but after a rise to fame made her home in the good 'ol Volunteer State. "The Coal Miner's Daughter" was shot in part at her home: Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
"Country Strong," a story of the rise and fall of country music fame was filmed in and around Nashville, Tennessee.
Where better to film a Miley Cyrus movie than her hometown? Middle Tennessee served as the backdrop for, "Hannah Montana: The Movie."
A majority of, "The Identity Thief" was shot in Georgia, but that last bridge shot? It's all Chattanooga,.
The entirety of, "October Sky" was filmed in Tennessee, giving an inspirational film a beautiful backdrop.
Though none of the actors filmed in the state, stock footage from Memphis was used for, "The Silence of the Lambs," therefore, giving the city forever bragging rights to the horror film.
"The Firm" kept to its literary roots by being filmed in Memphis, the original written setting.
The castle-like exterior of, the prison in, "The Green Mile" is actually the Tennessee State Penitentiary, closed in 1992.
The foliage of Fall Creek Falls served as the backdrop for scenes in the live action film, "The Jungle Book."
