Living in Tennessee is a dream - most of the time. Our homeland is just like anyone else's, full of natural beauty, grocery store lines and reams of traffic around our cities. Whether you hail from a tiny town in our mountains, live alongside the curving snake of the Mississippi or smack dab in the middle on the Cumberland Plateau, these twelve frustrating moments are something almost every Tennessean has experienced. How many have you experienced...?
12. That crazy weather.
If you don't like the weather in Tennessee, just wait a few minutes. It'll change.
11. Allergy Season...
Where do we even start?! With all of the beautiful, rolling hills and gorgeous fields there comes A LOT of allergy issues. We love our home, but our noses sure don't…
10. Getting caught in traffic on the way to Gatlinburg.
We just want to get to our fun, kitschy souvenir shops and mountaintop cabins. Is that too much to ask for?!
9. Does snow count?
Mainly because most of us don't know how to drive in it...
8. The Nashville obsession.
Sure, we love our capital like everyone else, but JEEZ people freak out over Music City. You realize there are other places to visit in Tennessee, right? Right.
7. The Tennessee stereotype.
For some reason, folks in other states like to imagine the south without shoes and teeth. It's frustrating, especially with our varied history and stunning state accomplishments.
6. Church traffic.
It's definitely a real thing, especially in our larger cities. Who knew it was so hard to get to service?!
5. There are just WAY too many good options for bbq.
It's a difficult thing, living in a state that's perfected bbq.
4. And biscuits, for that matter.
Whether you're down the street at mama's or at a church potluck, there's nothing like a fluffy, crumbly biscuit made with Tennessee love.
3. HUMIDITY.
It breaks our hearts every year. How can such a beautiful place get so dang hot?!
2. All them transplants…
Not really, but kind of. When're they going to stop coming?!
1. The interminable wait for football season.
It's the most wonderful time of the year, wouldn't you say? The rest of the year feels like we're just lying in wait for the next game.
This small town drive-in theatre is a fun spot to visit if you're in Tennessee, or if you're a local and haven't quite discovered it yet.
