There's something special about being raised in the country in South Carolina. Perhaps it's all the wide open space that cultivates such an open-spirited all-around good nature. Whatever it is, we like it.
Depending on how you define "redneck," you may like it too. Sure, it's possible there are some bad eggs in the redneck carton, but we prefer to take the high road and talk about the good eggs in that carton. And while 100% of the people born in the Palmetto State aren't rednecks, they are all 100% South Carolinians.
Here's a look at what makes South Carolina rednecks among the best people you'll ever meet.
1. No matter where they're headed, they'll always let their best friend ride shotgun.
2. They like draft beer, but it doesn't have to be craft beer...
3. They can fix anything and everything.
4. A redneck from the Palmetto State would never rig up anything like this. They know that if you're going mobile with your guns, they belong in the rear window of your pickup.
5. They prefer to marry girls raised In the South.
6. They're not afraid of a little heat.
7. ...even on their grits.
8. They're always ready to lend a hand and get the job done - even in the heat of the summer.
9. They understand that the South didn't lose the war.
10. Rednecks prefer a 12-gauge ...
...over a nine iron.
12. Rednecks aren't afraid to "go" in the backyard. In fact, sometimes they downright prefer it. And that's ok.
13. They get to have cool nicknames.
14. They make it fashionable to have cool hats and tats. And they have a secret language.
15. They're also not afraid to ditch the wife's ballet night...
...for a monster truck rally.
