Have you ever explored the Ohio History Center? Unless you're a well versed Ohio history buff, you likely haven't had a chance to visit this gem. (Be sure to check out this list of must-see historical landmarks in Ohio.) Columbus is home to this impressive museum and village, which every true Ohioan needs to visit at least once.
Here's why this one-of-a-kind attraction is worthy of your bucket list:
Welcome to the Ohio History Center, also known as the headquarters of the Ohio History Connection.

This massive museum tells the story of Ohio. You'll learn about everything from the discovery of ancient Indian cultures and artifacts to the history of farming and public transportation.
You can visit the Ohio History Center on Wednesday - Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

One of the most popular exhibits features a rare collection of restored Civil War battle flags.
Some of the exhibits are life size recreations you can walk through, such as the full-size Lustron home.
Admission is $15 for adults, $9 for children ages 4 - 12 and $13 for seniors. College students are $13 with a student ID.
It's interesting to look back on how Ohio society and industrial progress evolved over time. This is the place that brings the story of Ohio alive.

While you're here, you'll also want to stroll through Ohio Village, a recreated 19th-century community. It's a seasonal attraction that's fun to explore.
Note: Ohio Village is open from Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day Weekend during the same hours of operation as the museum.
